Navajun Pyrite cube 34mm exhibiting excellent colour and natural sheen, these Pyrite cubes showcase a nice metallic lustre with a mirror like finish. Such Auriferous Pyrite is a valuable ore of gold. Pyrite naturally crystallises in cube form and can date back to the Mesozoic era, late Jurassic, approximately 120 million years.
Originating within the sediments of large delta's which covered the Cameros Sierra, found near the Navajun mines. Although pyrites are relatively abundant in nature of this calibre, and this quality can only be found in the Navajun mines. Forming part of the most prestigious museums and mineral collections exhibited at the likes of the Smithsonian Institute Museum in Washington, Houston, the Mineral museum of Paris and many more. This particular Navajun mine dates back to the 1960's and was the only Pyrite mine in the world in production that was exploited exclusively for collectors and interiors around the world.
