Carcharodontosaurus (Shark Toothed Lizard) is commonly referred to as the North African Tyrannosaurus rex and although it was widely unknown, it was bigger! The Carcharodontosaurus is one of the largest species of theropod dinosaur, larger than Tyrannosaurus, ranging between 12 to 13.3 m (39 to 44 ft) and weighing estimates are between 6.2 to 15.1 tons.
With enormous jaws, armed with large 8” serrated teeth, a typical skull for both types of Carcharodontosaurus have been recorded between 1.53 to 1.6 m (5.0 to 5.2 ft).
