A one of kind and beautifully prepared Asteroceras ammonite presented on our in-house bespoke designed bronze stand for a unique display and easy removal for study.
Found and prepared from within the original matrix, a boulder from the once fine Jurassic layers of Black Ven Marls. Now transformed into a piece of art, discovering ammonites of this calibre, completeness, size and of this particular genus is a rare event. The preservation has been kind to the Asteroceras making it a scientifically important piece.
With vivid suture patterning, excellent colours and calcite variations contrasting, developed within the cephalopods internal structure over millions of years, helping to provide insight into the internal morphology putting it in the top 5% of quality British Asteroceras discoveries too date.
