A Rare huge fossil Spinosaurus aegyptiacus dinosaur tooth exclusively available at THE FOSSIL STORE! archetypical semi-aquatic Spinosaurus dinosaur tooth. The Spinosaurus tooth exhibits morphologically throughout from the root to the tip.
Often, large teeth sustain some damage during fossilisation and root separation due to not having a protective coat, like the enamel surrounding the upper tooth crown. Minerals in the fossil layers help to strengthen and further protect specimens from eroding through the aeons of time, the common cause of natural erosions.
Condition: An interesting and huge tooth prepared in the field in the Kem kem beds and with further work in the UK. The crown reseated, and at least four breaks are evident in the tooth's crown and possibly an associated upper crown. Some life wear to the apical cap/tip. The tooth enamel/dentin-surface patination is dark and preserved. It displays a dark patina throughout. Minerals and aeons of deposition in the Cretaceous fossil bed layer dictate the tonal pallet.
