These large shells may be found in the carbonate levels of the Miocene period. A fine fossilised Chlamys lattissima pecten clam shell from the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Southern France. More commonly known in France as 'Coquille St. Jacques', these large shells can be found in the carbonate levels of the Miocene period.
