Amethyst geode monuments 1140mm which was extracted as a whole geode and cut into a pair of caverns from the mine workings of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Now cut into two half’s with a foot formed to enabled the wonderful crystal cavern to been showcased to the best advantage revealing the numerous amethyst crystal points within. Amethyst is coloured quartz, the striking colour which is natural here (some quartz are artificially heat treated to create various colours), is naturally vivid in this particular discovery a delightfully deep purple hue.
The crystals, naturally created through the earths crust heat, vulcanism or magma, particularly from the region of Minas Gerais, are large, numerous with exceedingly good clarity, creating a dazzling array within the cavern. The play of light through the amethyst crystals in natural light is remarkable, the prismatic crystal terminations have an exceptional vitreous lustre. An exceptional statement geode, a work of art formed by natural circumstances having taken perhaps eons to form, which is sure to enthral forever.
