Details

British Ichthyosaur polished bone with pyrite deposits within. A wonderful find of the once prehistoric Ichthyosaur off the British coast of Whitby.


The pebble nodule has been cut and polished revealing two large Vertebra within the limestone, which exhibit fine honeycomb structures of the backbone bone. Also can be seen in this block are the narrow or waisted centre section of the Ichthyosaur vertebrae structure.
