Harpactocarcinus punctulatus mud crab 50mm on matrix from the Xanthidae family. An excellent cheery specimen, you could be forgiven to think this charming arthropod was about to nip you, so articulated he is on the host matrix block, which is part of the silts in which the crab was fossilised.


The location of find originating from Monte Baldo quarry, Verona, Italy. Geological age dating from the Eocene period, 56,000,000 to 38,000,000 years.
