Geisonoceras Polished Ammonoid 145mm, the cephalopod ammonoids fossil shell [phragmacone] polished revealing beautiful natural limestone which has absorbed colour from replaced Calcite (quartz) chambers of the extant cephalopods shell. All processed via fossilisation and influenced by the local environmental conditions of the fossil site where each fossil is found.

Location - Western Sahara Desert, Morocco, North Africa
Geological Age - Paleozoic Era, Devonian Period, around 420-355 million years ago

Geisonoceras is an extinct orthocerid genus named by Hyatt, 1884, and type for the Geisonoceratidae established by Zhuravleva in 1959. The Geisonoceras cephalopod ammonoids fossil shell [phragmacone] polished revealing beautiful natural limestone which has absorbed colour from replaced Calcite (quartz) chambers of the extant cephalopods shell. All processed via fossilisation and influenced by the local environmental conditions of the fossil site where each fossil is found.
