The numerous fossil Orthoceras phragmacone (orthocone shell), inclusions illustrate the apparent chaoitic and crammed prehistoric marine waters of the Silurian to Devonian period millions of years ago, now the North Western Sahara. Exhibiting superb detail of the Orthoceras nautiloids (a marine cephalopod related to the extant octopi and cuttlefish), phragmacone remains are the internal structure of the Orthoceras which have mineralised over the eons with fascinating quartz and calcite deposits replacing the internal chambers of the once extant animals. Encapsulated by ancient limestone which was the prehistoric sediment at the bottom of the ocean. This very black sediment contrasting wonderfully with the white mineral inclusion. The combinations curating a unique-designed creation.
