The only recorded Spinosaurus aegyptiacus up to the last decade of the 20th century, a partial skeleton, partial jaw and large ribs of the sail back was discovered by the palaeontologist Ernest Stromer circa 1915, these were lost in a bombing raid on Germany during WWII.
