An excellent, substantial Flexicalymene trilobite fossil, one of Morocco's famous and well-known discoveries of trilobites. Their carapace free from the metamorphosed limestone/bedrock, prepared in our studio to reveal and provide clarity to these individual ancient arthropods, once little trilobites that trawled the ocean seabed. With inflated 3 dimensional glabella, bulbous and protruding eyes and clearly defined thoracic segments these fossils provide a very good insight into life in the Ordivician period.
Discovered in the Western Sahara Desert of Morocco, North Africa, among the hamada, the mountain ranges, now dry desert ténéré which was once an ancient ocean.
Each Flexicalymene trilobite is unique with fossilised characteristics, each represents the limestone deposit of origin, presenting a variety of beautiful colour palettes.
