Rare Fossil Gem, this Quenstedtoceras Russian Ammonite, or sometimes known as Quenstedticeras Ammonite, is fully Pyritized!
Pyrite, or Iron Pyrite has a metallic luster and pale-to-normal, brass-yellow hue, and hence earned its nickname; Fools Gold, as it was mistaken as Gold many years ago.
Very few Fossil beds exhibit this type of influence on the Fossils themselves, as it has taken millions of years for this remarkable outcome.
