A remarkable core, of chunky proportions. Very robust. Marked inscription in black ink?, 'L.Guerche. P.'

Condition Report

Of massive proportions, Attractive toffee/caramel colouration showing a fine sheen/aged Patina, with appealing whitish speckles in some areas. In good condition, no modern reworked areas, as found condition. The edges of the flint core, sharp.

Provenance

It is thought that this is a core flint for the manufacture of tools; it has not only a ridged and flatish surface on either face, but also a lozenge shape concavity, to one end? This extraordinary flint core was used in the manufacture of other tools? Tools from the Le Grand Pressigny are scarce, this represent an excellent opportunity to acquire a genuine Stone Age artefact from some of the worlds first agricultural peoples! Acquired from a European private collection.
