Description
A fine Fluorite dish, has been skilfully carved and polished to form a stylised leaf dish, fluorite is a difficult mineral to cut carve. The mineral often has flaws which require large amounts to be sourced to eventually find suitable material to work, which makes this an interesting and unique piece. The name fluorite derives from the Latin root, fluo - to flow, as the mineral has a low melting point and it is a important flux in smelting.
