Fossil Facts
Specimens of this calibre and of a high preserved state are extremely difficult to attain at present, not only in the fossil trade, but also in todays digs [fossil sites]. This is largely because, many of the beds are now dug out, restricted/off limits, collapsed/flooded, or are so deep, that material is virtually impossible to find complete or even extract from the sedimentary rock, because it is a lot tough [harder rock].
The tools and machinery required to un-earth such material is impossible to reach the beds location due to the terrain, so most excavating is slowly and carefully done by hand.
Other Fossil material found from the deeper beds of Morocco, are often the subject to more fossil wear; naturally, due to the constant change to the environment, continuous and gradual continental plates shift and gradual change to the beds, often causing them to collapse and crush a lot of material, many factors contribute to the outcome of all fossil worldwide.
