Description
Exceptional example of the Rare and Extinct Cow Shark; known as the Notidanidon loozi.
Condition Report
Excellent preservation overall; Beautiful Pale Blonde Enamel; [one of the more favoured colours in Sharks Teeth], with exceptional lustre/patina. A Complete Lower Jaw Tooth with Root still attached [extremely difficult species to find, particularly to find complete with No restoration].This is Quality tooth, though One cusps has been re-seated [this is very common with this type tooth; occurring during the Fossilization process].
Each individual cusp demonstrates a high lustre, original Glossy enamel. All well formed points/crowns are extremely Sharp, with no peeling to the enamel, which again is common.
Exceptional preservation to the Root (which again is rare to find). Exceptional detail exposed< p>
Professionally prepared and cleaned using the latest air-abrasion equipment; to remove any existing matrix from the Tooth.
Information
The Notidanidon was a seven gilled Shark which had multi-cusped teeth, the root being rectangular and of flattened form. It is Rare to find this species/Tooth complete with the Root still attached, as availability and discoveries of the Cow Shark decline annuallyYou will see some examples offered on the market with extensive wear and restoration, especially to the cusps
