Description

This rare & unique Tooth plate comes from a Cretaceous Bony Fish, known as the Ceratodus Fish, also referred to as Ceratodus. This specimen is rare, due to the limited discoveries from this genus. The tooth is in an exceptional preserved state and still remaining its true form, [no crushing or malformation; which is understandably a common occurrence with teeth of this nature and structure], to has been re-seated around the root/verso of the plate. The tooth has a rounded triangular outline, with enamelled ridges that incline forwards & decreasing in height. The surface of the tooth plate structure is porous with clear growth lines at the median edge of the plate profile ridges.
