Description
The Carcharodontosaurus Saharicus sp. was a huge Theropod carnivore of the Cretaceous, North Africas version of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, commonly confused or associated as the North African TRex, actually Carcharodontosaurus was from a different lineage, although the similarities between both are outwardly obvious, only a few bones of the skeleton separate their family differences. Carcharodontosaurus was bigger/heavier than Tyrannosaurus, however having a smaller brain. The name Carcharodontosaurus means Shark-toothed-lizard. The Carcharodontosaurus reached lengths of up to 45ft/15m long and weighing around 4tons.
Condition Report
CarcharodontosaurusToe claw in a Good and stable condition. The claw has been repaired, being rejoined after a break across the mid portion of the claw, this work carried out sympathetically and does not detract from the aesthetics of the claw, which is very neat and sharp in appearance. A classic neutral cream colour from this very renowned fossil bed. Blood vessel anatomy very clear, as seen in the images, a very honest specimen.Now fixed/Stabilised with penetrative bone tissue preservatives to museum standard. Giving the surface a semi glossy appearance, as seen in the images. All work carried out in our Lab.
