Description

Exceptional Fossil Dinosaur Tooth Sp.; juvenile or young Dinosaur Tooth from the Carcharodontosaurus Dinosaur, with Excellent enamel condition, with high sheen Glossy Patina.

Prominent characteristics of this predatory tooth still intact and excellent preserved

Condition Report

Highly sought after Teeth from the famous predatory Dinosaur of the Cretaceous era, the Carcharodontosaurus

Fine colours; Light, to Dark Browns, with extraordinary stripe like patterning, this effect has occurred during the Fossilization process over millions of years, causing this beautiful and striking effect

The Tooth shows an excellent Curve, quite robust [rounded]. A Solid Tooth, with No crushing, and of fair size for a juvenile Tooth. Good serration detail to both

Fossil Evidence; Some Life/ Feeding wear to tip, suggests that this Tooth was in occasional use, as their is minimal wear [which is uncommon for such a predatory Dinosaur].Possibly seated toward the back of the Jaw. Minor repair to tip/crown due to the condition and placement in the beds; this is common in Teeth found today, and is to be expected from the deeper bed sites, as the sedimentary rock is a lot tougher, causing the extraction process to be more lengthily and difficult

Information

Natural Wear such as life/feeding wear, or Fossil wear and is to be expected from Teeth, especially from a large Predatory Dinosaur such as the Carcharodontosaurus. The search for these Teeth has caused the Fossil beds much deeper now, as Fossil site are limited, and almost worked out, so less material is being found, and thus less high quality specimens are found (Today's Digs-at present).

So it is for certain, that material will decrease in preservation and condition, as the beds deepen

In recent years Morocco has had severe annual Flooding, causing many beds to collapse. Much Fossil material has been lost, and certain Specimens have become increasingly more difficult to obtain because of it, not just out on site, but also in the Fossil Market
