Description
Fine example of a well preserved Carcharodontosaurus Saharicus Dinosaur sp. Tooth, good preservation and condition.
Condition Report
Excellent Sabre curve, with unusual markings/patterning to the enamel; which has naturally occurred during the Fossilization process over millions of years, influenced by the Fossil beds environment and the elements, minerals in the bedding plane.
many contributing factors cause rare occurrences, specimens in the fossil beds are sometimes subject to severe wear and distortions, or as with this tooth reveals fascinating patterning to the enamel, stripes like markings.
The enamel in exceptional condition, with Glossy patina, and Golden Blonde colour, blonde being one of the more favoured colours to find in Dinosaur Teeth from this location
Evidence of Natural Feeding wear, or Life Wear evident to the crown/tip, which shows that the tooth was in frequent use by the supreme Predatory Dinosaur before it Died.
Feeding wear is to be expected from Predatory Fossil Teeth, especially for a Dinosaur of this stable. It also suggests, by the size of the Tooth, that this Specimen would have come from an Adult or Large Carcharodontosaurus Dinosaur.
The Tooth its self is quite robust, with partial root section still attached, again this is quite Rare. Teeth like this are extremely limited in number, rare and through our annual visits to Morocco, we come across less and less every year.
