Excellent Positive and Negative Cambropallas Telesto Trilobite; a split nodule limestone forming the positive and negative impression of the once living large and classic Arthropod.

Condition Report

Exceptional example of the C. Telesto Trilobite Species, superb Positive and Negative specimen, with very well pronounced axial furrows/rings along the Thorax. The Cephalon also demonstrates extreme preservation; with risen eyes and Glabella.

Both Genal spines still visible, one of few specimens, excellent condition and preservation to both Plates

Extraction Note Update

Commonly Trilobite Fossils for sale today, often suffer damage or are broken during the excavation process. Fossil beds today in Morocco are becoming much deeper, causing the extraction process to be more difficult. Particularly in farther a field sites. We have visited these sites high in the Atlas Ranges of Morocco, where only hand tools are used to painstakingly extract fossils.

Understandably, to discover fossil specimens, of a high preservation is an astonishing event, especially specimens of a good size, usually the smaller the fossil specimen the more chance of better preservation the larger specimens are more susceptible to crushing and damage through bedding plain movement over the eons and continuous environmental change and plate shifting, beds collapsing, and possible flooding , destroying fossil beds altogether, many factors contribute to the fossils condition on extraction and the post Lab preparation.
