Description

Fine Iron Pyrite Ammonite Half; Ammonites of this nature are scarce, especially found fully Pyritized or Pyritiferous, the external shell shows a Mirror like effect, emitting high metallic lustre, and internal chamber walls revealing small clusters of Pyrite.

Iron Pyrite; is sometimes referred to as Fools Gold, bright and very well preserved specimen, and of good size

Information

Specimens of this nature are uncommon, as only few beds allow and yield this type of Fossilization to occur and take effect, creating these truly wondrous and Rare Fossils

The depositional environment was anoxic at the time of fossilization, influencing the mineral exchange by Iron Pyrite
