Good and Large, Rare Jurassic Ammonite from North Africa
Many same species ammonites being prolific can be found in many worldwide locations; as the Peltoceras solidum species are found in Matmor Formation (Jurassic, Callovian) in Makhtesh Gadol, Israel.
Condition report
large pronounced Horned Chambers, help to distinguish the type of Ammonite, probably a Peltoceras type Ammonite. With characteristics, such as the chamber alignment, Horned Ribs, and overall shape of the specimen, it is a Jurassic Ammonite.
Exceptionally sized Ammonite, with good preservation
Verso the ammonite has undergone some re-fixing with a conglomerate mix of crushed limestone and stabiliser. see images.
