Opal Cleoniceras Madagascariense Ammonite Fossil - SP9721 | ||
| £110.00 | |||
Description
Specimens such as these are unique, and becoming more difficult to discover and acquire, as the beds that once yielded them are now restricted entry, and fewer specimens of this quality are now available in the fossil trade.
This is a beautiful example of the Cleoniceras Species, and of good size. The Ammonites external shell displays a superb range of colours, one being purple one of the more difficult colours to find. The Ammonite is in an excellent state of preservation, with slight suture pattern revealed to one side of the specimen.
The Suture pattern, otherwise known as the protective under-layer of the Ammonite, shows extraordinary patterns and design to the shell, there are many different types of Suture patterns, please see our other selections of Madagascan Ammonites for a fully exposed Suture pattern. Ammonites of this nature are also increasingly popular due to there appearance and unique design.
