The Arietites Bucklandi Ammonite is now, increasingly difficult to locate in the Lower Lias Jurassic fossil formations in Dorset. This Jurassic specimen is approximately 200 million years old.

Information

Often the centres of these large fossils are often lost to Pyretic decay which erodes the fine, smaller and much thinner inner whorls, as a result without exception these Arietites from this location have re-worked centres, in some cases rebuilt.
