Condition Report

Fossil Evidence; Some Life wear to one side of the Tooth (Heavy Duty Tooth), suggests that this Tooth was in continuous or frequent use, and possibly seated toward the front of the mouth/jaw, again causing more use; more wear.

The tip shows good preservation however, with original enamel and good patina/sheen. The Tooth has been repaired (mid way) in the extraction processs, which are becoming increasingly difficult, as the sedimentary fossil beds deepen

Partial enamel loss toward the base of Tooth, this is weathering occurring during the Fossilization process, and is to be expected, as the Fossil beds are almost worked out, so less Fossil material is being found, and thus less high quality specimens are finding their way to market.

Information

recent years Morocco has seen severe rainfall in the desert regions where these beds are located, causing many beds to collapse. Much Fossil material has been lost, and certain Specimens have become increasingly more difficult to obtain.
