Beautiful bright Blue Lapis Mineral, with Pyrite inclusions, polished to form this unique piece of Mineral Jewellery. The Lapis lazuli mineral is polished on both sides and is set in silver [925].
Gem Information
Pyrite
Iron pyrite- also known as Fools Gold, as its first discovery was mistaken for Gold. A mineral compound of Sulphur and various metals. Having usually a bright/ yellow metallic lustre.
Lapis Lazuli
The finest colour is intense blue, lightly dusted with small flecks of golden pyrite. There should be no white calcite veins and the pyrite inclusions should be small. Stones that contain too much calcite or pyrite are not as valuable. Patches of pyrite are an important help in identifying the stone as genuine and do not detract from its value.
