Brief History
The limestone comes from the Western Desert regions of Morocco. Once a vast ocean floor, now raised to form part of the Greater Sahara Desert. Occasionally the sand reveals low lying slabs or rock outcrops, semi polished by eons of shifting sands. These outcrops often seem to resemble a uniquely manufactured mosiac floor, rather than a natural event of nature.Occasionally Ammonoids and other fossils litter the rock floor. A truly ore inspiring sight in the seemingly flat arid Sahara Desert regions. It is very satisfying and intriguing in the last hour of sunlight to pour water over these floors and see them come alive with the visions of past life forms after a hard days sojourn in the fossil beds of the desert.
