Two Ammonoid & Orthoceras Plates, with other Fossil inclusions.

Uniquely & skilfully cut & polished in the whole, from fossilerous bedrock [matrix], high quality polished finish.

The artist here creatively producing with great sympathy, foresight & symmetry a unique fossil object which has great art form & also that is decorative.

The limestone comes from the Western Desert regions of Morocco. Once a vast ocean floor bed, now raised to form part of the greater Sahara Desert.

Occasionally the sand reveals low lying slab rock outcrops, semi polished by eons of shifting sands. These outcrops often seem to resemble a unique manufactured tiled floor, rather than a natural event of nature.

Occasionally Ammonoids and other fossils litter the rock floor. A truly ore inspiring sight in the seemingly flat arid desert regions. It is great fun to pour water over these floors and see them come alive.
