Description
Mounted Mantelliceras Fossil Ammonite surmounted fossil Marble Base.
The Devonian Marble Base from Tazzerine, Southern East part of Morocco, Western Sahara Desert reveals multi-fossilized Crustacea inclusions, such as Orthoceras specimens dating back around 420-355 million years ago.
The Ammonite is from the Agadir region of the Anti Atlas Range of Western Morocco
it requires many hours of work and technical skill to extract ammonites of good form from the fossil beds of North Africa, to give them life once again presenting them for a dramatic display as seen here. An extremely fine example of these ammonites
These Massive Mantelliceras Ammonites are becoming increasingly more difficult to cull out of the fossil beds, re- Dam constructions. Other reasons such as laborious methods and techniques are making their recovery slower and eventually will mean beds will expire. An all too common event of the fossil hunters life in this ever changing and developing environment.
