This massive fossil fish is a remarkable Cladocyclus genus type of extinct tarpon, of the Lower Cretaceous Period of Brazil. believed to be a ferocious predator moving at great speeds making lightning lunges at its victims aided by its large pectoral fins, deeply forked tail, long torpedo-like body and large fang like teeth-lining the also large gaping mouth, this was a formidable apex predator of its aquatic environment.
